Batesville Primary School and Batesville Intermediate School's Arts in Education programs hosted a two-day visit with award-winning artist and author Peter Brown. Peter worked with over 950 students in grades K-5 on November 10 and 11. He gave 6 large group presentations, one for each grade level. In addition, he presented an Arts in Education Evening Series program for the community on November 10, 2016. He was available for photographs and book signings at all events.
Peter's books include New York Times bestsellers like The Curious Garden, Children Make Terrible Pets, and Mr. Tiger Goes Wild. His illustrations for Creepy Carrots!, written by Aaron Reynolds, earned him a 2013 Caldecott Honor. He recently published his first novel for children, The Wild Robot. Peter lives in Brooklyn, New York, and was in Indianapolis at the Indiana Library Federation’s annual conference on November 9 to receive the Young Hoosier Book Award for his book Creepy Carrots.
His visit was a huge success! We are "wild" about Peter and his books!
