JCFS Holcoaust Center virtually visits BMS

We were able to have a virtual Zoom presentation from Leon, a Holocaust survivor. He

was 10 years old during WWII, and lived in and out of camps for 11 years. He provided

the students with a background of his childhood, along with hand-drawn photos to help

explain his journey. Joining on the call was an employee of the JFCS Holocaust Center in

San Francisco, CA. She helped guide the presentation.

The students were given the opportunity to ask Leon personal questions at the end of

the presentation. Each student submitted a question, but only 10 were chosen. They

were gathered in my classroom, while the other students were streaming the event from

their homerooms. My students asked their questions to Leon, and were totally

starstruck!
